Quality Engineer

The Quality Engineer oversees daily laboratory operations and leads a team of lab technicians to ensure accurate and reliable quality inspections. The role is responsible for the effective implementation of Quality and Food Safety procedures and standards at the Chonburi plant, including GMP, GFSI, and all applicable regulatory requirements related to manufactured products. Working closely with shopfloor operations and supervisory teams, the Quality Engineer helps maintain product quality, identify and resolve quality issues, prevent future problems, and support overall productivity. This position reports directly to the Quality Manager.

Job description

1. Factory laborator•    Setting up the lab according to Lotus standards•    Organize the daily work of the lab technicians.•    Train lab technicians to execute controls and maintain the lab within Lotus standards.•    Timely execution of the sampling plan of raw/pack materials, intermediate products and finished goods•    Organization and management of holding samples•    Self-assessment laboratory compliance.•    Point of contact with the corporate lab in Belgium•    Point of contact with external labs.•    Act as a backup for the Lab Technician for the analysis of raw materials, intermediate products, and finished goods2.Quality and Food Safety Management System•    Assist the Quality Manager in maintaining and updating Quality and Food Safety Management Systems such as GMP, BRC, Halal, and Kosher.•    Ensure no defective or unsafe products leave the factory, complying with relevant laws.3.Quality & Food Safety Inspection Program•    Collaborate with the Quality Manager to define the quality inspection program for raw materials, packaging materials, intermediate products, and finished products.•    Assist Quality Manager with risk assessment as input for quality inspection. This relates to inbound inspection, QC in lab, process control and outbound inspection.•    Assess production environments and advise parties when standards are not met (e.g., Pest control, Uniform and Laundry management).•    Conducting the regular GMP audit , summary of findings and recommendations for improvement .•    Governance the internal and external audits with Corporate QA.4.Guidance and Support•    Work closely with the shop floor, providing guidance and support to ensure quality control meets standards.5.Document Management•    Manage the document management system related to quality and food safety.•    Review quality and food safety instructions in case of improvements, updated standards and procedures (corporate, local) and prepare for approval by Quality Manager.                                                   6.Continuous Improvement•    Address quality and food safety-related issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.                                                   7.Complaint & Non-conformity Management•    Support production during Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) complaint handling and investigations to ensure quality products.•    Manage the non-conformity management process.                                                   8.Worker Awareness & Training•    Implement quality activities to enhance worker awareness.•    Prepare and Conduct quality training for workers and staff

Profile

Education (degree):•    Bachelor's Degree in Science preferably in Food Science or related field (Biology, Microbiology, Food Microbiology, etc.)

Specific knowledge:•    Familiarity with FDA requirements and regulations.•    Knowledge of GFSI-certification requirements, such as FSSC22000, IFS, or BRC.•    Proficiency in statistical analysis tools.•    Basic understanding of mechanical/electrical engineering and utilities.•    Preferred: GMP, HACCP and GFSI certification.

Experience :•    At least 5 years of work experience at Quality Supervisor level in the food industry.

Language: •    Proficiency in both English and Thai.

Personal competences:•    Hands on and loves to be on the floor. •    Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.•    Skill in organization and prioritization, and attention to details. •    Able to effectively communicate ideas (verbally and in writing).
