Financial Controller

Job description
You will report to the Finance Director with a focus on Peter’s Yard financials, processes and reporting, along with cross-group projects. The key focus areas of the roles and where you will spend the majority of your time are:
SOF Peter’s Yard
- Management, control, forecasting and reporting of the finances of the business.
- Full P&L responsibility, alongside Balance Sheet responsibility with the help of a GL Accountant.
- Month-end close responsibility for Peter’s Yard, including all necessary accruals, prepayments and reporting.
- Recurring and ad-hoc reporting of commercials, operational and total business performance.
- Costing and yield analysis for the bakery supplier.
- Budgeting and forecasting for the business, collating inputs from stakeholders.
- Key business partner to Managing Director of Peter’s Yard and business leadership team, providing insight, analysis and required challenge.
- Profitability analysis – through both commercial and operational analysis provide insight on how to drive forward profitability.
- Audit – a key contact for the audit of Peter’s Yard.
Group Natural Foods UK
- Group Reporting and Analysis: create tool to convert the demand planning units into a financial view.
- Along with the other Financial controllers, be a member of the SAP S/4HANA testing team, ensuring fit-for-purpose
- Group Projects: e.g. further alignment of tools and processes across the 4 Natural Foods businesses
- Team support: provide support to other team members where necessary – e.g. during periods of holiday.
Profile

- Fully qualified accountant
- Bachelor’s degree, in an analytical/finance field preferred, from a good university
- Very strong Excel skills – managing and analysing commercial, operational and financial data, modelling/forecasting experience
- Strong verbal and written communication is essential – to both guide and influence non-financial key stakeholders
- Strong analytical capabilities, analysing financial data, identifying trends, writing commentary and making informed recommendations
- Demonstrated ownership of month end closings and reporting
- Project experience, from kick-off to completion
- Experience in multiple stakeholder management – strong relationship building qualities
- An agile personality – you enjoy working on a variety of tasks and projects, along with providing support to the wider finance team as needed.
- Experience with SAP preferred
