The Production Manager coaches multiple shift supervisors, who lead the teams of production workers in our growing manufacturing facility.  Our 24/7 operation is staffed by four teams who work tirelessly across four shifts.  Providing oversight for his/her team's performance, ensuring the safety and quality of our products, and modeling and maintaining a culture of continuous improvement are major responsibilities of the Production Manager.  Our sole U.S. plant is known for being safe, quality-focused, and efficient.  As a member of the Plant Management Team, you will help contribute to the plant's operational performance and excellence.  In addition to providing people and operational leadership, the Production Manager will lead the daily cycle of KPI management and serve as a backup for the Quality Manager for FSMA/FDA compliance.

Job description

  • Responsible for achieving the production KPIs (quality, efficiency, hygiene, output, yield)
  • Implement work instructions
  • Propose and implement improvement actions proactively (continuous improvement)
  • Create a culture of continuous improvement in safety, quality and performance
  • Ensure the targeted quality of the end products
  • Ensure compliance with FSMA/FDA regulation
  • Ensure compliance with IFS standards
  • Perform traceability exercises
  • Cultivate a motivating and supporting culture
  • Provide training tools and documentation
  • Plan training and learning events in partnership with Human Resources.  Provide feedback on the quality and effectiveness of these programs.
  • Actively influence the retention of personnel and maintain compliance with plant procedures
  • Take a lead role in the selection of new team supervisors, line leads, and production workers
  • Oversee and provide guidance for the performance-management activities of your production team (half-year revews, annual reviews, disciplinary actions, terminations)

Profile

  • Master’s degree with specialization in food technology or chemistry
  • Bachelor’s degree in same domains with relevant experience is acceptable
  • FSMA/FDA requirements
  • GFSI-certification requirements
  • Basics of mechanical/electrical engineering & utilities
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a production management role (food industry or related)
  • Experience with SAP (production, planning) is a plus
  • Experience with BRC-GS is a plus
  • Strong command of the English language, both verbal and written
  • Conversational Spanish skill is helpful but not required
